Well, you won’t be disappointed. Come out to Club Jager this Saturday night and experience a tribute event like no other. Some of the best DJs in the area will gather to take part in a celebration of Radio Raheem—the character from Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing (1989) who walks around with a boom box playing Public Enemy’s “Fight the Power”—and his entire era. Available for attendees to snag will be custom-printed t-shirts and “fun Nickelodeon prizes.”
Arts Orbit is a multisource blog about the local arts scene, featuring both original contributions by Daily Planet writers and entries reprinted from partner blogs and online publications.
All that and 2-1 taps and cocktails makes me definitely want to lean back, beer in hand, and listen to some ghetto-blasters battle it out. It will be like summer all over again. Doors open at 8 p.m., and there isn’t even any cover charge. For those who can’t make it in person, KFAI will be broadcasting live from Club Jager from 9:00-11:00 p.m
