I’ve often complained about the speed at which vehicles travel on Central Ave. on the stretch between Lowry and Columbia Heights…. Well, it seems the rail crossing repair has created an unintended--or, perhaps, intended--solution. However, I doubt it was intentional since I’ll bet that the ongoing speed trap at 33rd is huge revenue source for the city of Minneapolis, and they wouldn’t want to lose that.
The new crossing at 36th is so far above grade that it has the effect of a giant speed bump.…

An open “letter to the editor” of the Northeaster Newspaper (Kerry Ashmore).
I’m writing this open “letter to the editor” for the benefit of the people of Northeast Minneapolis because I know that you will not have the guts to print it in your paper.
In your latest editorial (Northeaster, Feb. 25, 2009) you espouse the fact that “
we can be the economic recovery.”
Does that “we” apply to you, too, or are your words just more of your “do as I say, and not as I do” blather?
You ha…

Hi all,
