The Northeast Push Cart Derby

The First Annual Northeast Push Cart Derby at Waite Park was a success. The event drew over 100 neighbors from around Northeast Minneapolis to see eight teams compete in head-to-head racing. After several heats and some photo finishes, the Love Bug team from Cleveland Street barely beat out the Hayes Street Hot Pockets in the championship race. Waite Park Community Council Meeting: Feb. 3

On February 3, the Waite Park Community Council will be hosting Steve Larson, the Community Coordinator from Restorative Justice Community Action (RJCA). Restorative Justice works in Minneapolis neighborhoods to strengthen offender accountability for livability crimes by empowering local citizens to participate directly in the justice process. Waite Park Community Council Meeting: October 1

On October 1, the Waite Park Community Council will be hosting Shaun Murphy, Project Coordinator from the City of Minneapolis and Steve Clark, Program Manager from Transit for Livable Community (TLC) at our monthly meeting to address the plans for a potential "bicycle boulevard" along Fillmore Street through Waite Park and Northeast Minneapolis. Over the next couple months, the Waite Park Community Council will be visited by two special guests.
